Community Service
Community Christian Church provides opportunities for the congregation to be involved in projects and activities so we can all become disciples who serve God, each other and the community.
Bell Ringing for Salvation Army
For over 20 years during the ten days before Christmas we ring the bell for the Salvation Army Tree of Lights Campaign. Currently we ring at the Dierbergs’s market in Ballwin.
Circle of Concern Giving Tree
For over 30 years we have adopted families from Circle of Concern at Christmas. Members of the congregation take tags from our tree and purchase gifts for the family members so that on Christmas morning there will be gifts under their family tree.
Blood Drive
On a quarterly basis, we invite the community to join us in a blood drive to support the Red Cross. On average about 25 pints of blood are collected each drive to help meet the demands of health care in the St. Louis area. Registration appointments can be made at redcrossblood.org.
Circle of Concern Shopping Cart
Every Sunday our congregation members bring food to fill the shopping cart located in the Narthex. This food is then delivered to the local food pantry, Circle of Concern.
Mission Trips
Our church conducts mission trips, both locally and out of state, as needs arise and we can provide help. We have taken youth, adult and multi-generational trips to places such as Joplin, MO; New Orleans, LA; Kansas City, MO; Houston, TX.
Local Service Projects
At various times, opportunities arise to do projects that serve the community. Some examples would be: Painting at Valentine House (residential facility operated by Caring Solutions) Assistance with City of Manchester Clean-up Days, monthly food collection for local schools and more.
Stable Sale
The Stable is an ongoing program whereby our church collects and refurbishes a wide variety of items, including: clothes, toys, linens, housewares, and furniture. Some of these items are given away as we find people in serious need. The other items are sold at our sales that are held two times a year (May and October) and makes available to people gently used items they might not otherwise be able to have.
Wunderlich Family Life Center
The WFLC provides a venue for community sports leagues, kids sports camps, celebrations, meetings, and activities.
Project Linus Blanket Making
The women and children of CCC make fleece blankets for children and adults who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need to provide them with a sense of security, warmth, and comfort. These blankets are then distributed through Project Linus.
Outside Groups
We also welcome outside groups to use our building for meetings and gatherings. Some of the groups currently meeting in our buildings are: Alcoholics Anonymous, Joyful Notes (a singing group), and many sports teams.
